Summing up the essence of the person you love is a challenge that’s stumped wayyyy better writers than me. But I was listening to this song over the weekend (GREAT song, would definitely recommend) and thought about my love. 

Noah is so steady, so grounded, and so sure that he provides rest and shelter wherever he goes. It’s always been like that for me with him. His goodheartedness and certainty that I was the one for him put me at ease from the first day we met. I honestly had no idea that it could be so easy to connect with someone you just started dating – like you could just take a full breath when they were around. 

Which is not to say that this clarity and calmness of his extends to me, by any means. While we were dating, I was by turns terrified about getting serious with someone and that Noah and I wouldn’t be a fit. Then, after I’d let him know that I was ready to marry him but had yet to receive a ring (a few short weeks after I’d informed him lol) I was anxious that he’d changed his mind. I’d like to say that I’ve chilled out since we got married. But alas, I cannot say that haha. 

All this to say that I’m basically a big bundle of ups and downs, big feelings, and wild energy. This has its own pros and cons to it – but today, I just want to give my other half his flowers for meeting my tornado of restless energy with clarity, kindness, and respect. He is my rock in every sense of the word. 

We got married two years ago, and we’ll have been together for FOUR YEARS this November. I can hardly believe it. I’ll always be grateful for what he’s taught me about love.
